Murray starts against 30th seed Tomas Martin Etcheverry as he looks for a deep run in Melbourne.

'People are expecting big things' - Schett and Stringer discuss Sinner's opening round match

Coco Gauff, Andy Murray, Naomi Osaka, Daniil Medvedev and Ons Jabeur all play on the second day of the 2024 Australian Open.
The first Monday would normally mark the start of the Grand Slam, but this year it has been extended 15 days and play began on Sunday.
Jannik Sinner and Maria Sakkari were some of the first winner at the tournament, but who will join them in the second round?
Gauff and Medvedev will both open the play on the main show courts on Monday, while Rod Laver Arena will finish with a headline clash between two-time winner Osaka and 16th seed Caroline Garcia.

How to watch and stream the 2024 Australian Open

Every day of the year's first Grand Slam will be live on Eurosport and discovery+.
Eurosport is home to round-the-clock coverage from Melbourne, with play starting at midnight in the UK each day.
All the action can also be streamed on discovery+ across a range of devices.

Top men’s match – Felix Auger-Aliassime v Dominic Thiem

The two standout men’s matches look to have been scheduled for the night session.
Home favourite Alex de Minaur has had an excellent start to the year, including beating Novak Djokovic at the United Cup and breaking into the top 10 in the world rankings for the first time.
He has a tricky-looking opener against former Wimbledon runner-up Milos Raonic on Rod Laver Arena.
The pick of the matches could be Felix Auger-Aliassime v Dominic Thiem, which is last on Margaret Court Arena.
Auger-Aliassime had a big dip in form last season and is now down at No. 27 in the world rankings. He will be looking to avoid a fourth successive first-round loss at Grand Slams.
Thiem won just one Grand Slam match in 2023 as he continues to try to work his way back to the top following injury issues.
This one could go the distance.

Top women’s match – Caroline Garcia v Naomi Osaka

The Australian Open holds some good memories for Naomi Osaka.
It is where she has lifted two of her four Grand Slam trophies, including her most recent career title in 2021.
This will be her first major since the 2022 US Open having returned to the tour this month after giving birth in July.

Sakkari 'wins ugly' against Hibino - Australian Open highlights

Osaka hasn't won a match at a Grand Slam since the 2022 Australian Open and faces a tough opener against 16th seed Garcia.
The only previous time the pair met was three years ago in Melbourne when Osaka won in straight sets.

Who else is playing on Day 2 of Australian Open?

Fourth seed Gauff plays Anna Karolina Schmiedlova in her opening match as she looks to continue her winning start to 2024.
The 2023 US Open champion is coming off a title defence in Auckland.
Two-time Australian Open runner-up Medvedev opens against French qualifier Terence Atmane, while Jabeur faces Ukrainian qualifier Yulia Starodubtseva.
Andy Murray starts against 30th seed Tomas Martin Etcheverry.

Murray has outlined how he hopes to improve his serving this season, and could face Djokovic in the third round if they both progress.
Murray is the only Brit in action on the second day, with Emma Raducanu, Katie Boulter, Jack Draper, Dan Evans and Cameron Norrie all playing on Tuesday.
Stefanos Tsitsipas will face Zizou Bergs in his first match rather than Matteo Berrettini after the Italian pulled out due to a foot injury.
