Hello! Welcome coverage of day 9 at Roland Garros! Our first feature match of the day sees the dogged and determined David Ferrer face off against South Africa's Kevin Anderson. The players are warming up and play is soon to begin.

GAME, SET & MATCH! FERRER 6-3 6-3 6-7(5) 6-1 ANDERSON. Ferrer quickly races out to three match points but he sends a forehand long of the line to waste the first. Still he makes no mistake with the second, battering down another forehand winner. That's a pretty emphatic way to respond to dropping a set!

FERRER 6-3 6-3 6-7(5) 5-1 ANDERSON. The South African squanders a first game point with a inside-out forehand wide across court. He then attempts exactly the same shot on the next point but this time he lands it before going on to hold and at least force Ferrer to serve for the match.

FERRER 6-3 6-3 6-7(5) 5-0 ANDERSON. Ferrer batters down a heavy serve, that Anderson can only return into the net, to bring up a couple of game points to consolidate the double break. He fails to take advantage of the first as his forehand drifts wide down the line. But the Spaniard does hold at the second attempt and Anderson will have to serve to avoid the bagel set, and to keep the match alive, after the change of ends.

BREAK! FERRER 6-3 6-3 6-7(5) 4-0 ANDERSON. Ferrer is on an absolute mission now to wrap this match up as he races through another break with consecuive forehand winners followed by a backhand winner flicked down the line. Anderson has barely been in this fourth set so far.

FERRER 6-3 6-3 6-7(5) 3-0 ANDERSON. Ferrer finds himself two break back points down but is let off the hook after consecutive backhand errors from Anderson. The Spaniard then goes on to hold and consolidate his break with a blistering forehand that simply beats Anderson for pace, despite the South African not being too far away from the ball.

BREAK! FERRER 6-3 6-3 6-7(5) 2-0 ANDERSON. A brutal, dipping backhand down the line from Ferrer earns him three break points early in this fourth set. He only needs the one though, a forehand error from Anderson giving the game away. Ferrer looks to be on the march in this set.

FERRER 6-3 6-3 6-7(5) 1-0 ANDERSON. Ferrer quickly puts the disappointment of that third set behind pretty quickly, racing through an opening fourth-set hold to 15, sealing the game with another blistering winner.

SET! FERRER 6-3 6-3 6-7(5) ANDERSON. Anderson squanders the first set point with a forehand error and then slaps down a fault on his first serve. But he manages to recover his nerve with a great second set and gets Ferrer on the run to snatch the set when the Spaniard puts an off-balance forehand into the net. A fourth set it is.

TIE-BREAK! FERRER 6-3 6-3 6-6 (4-6) ANDERSON. Ferrer comes up with a stunningly angled forehand winner across court despite being fully on the run, after going a mini-break down. But it's only a temporary respite for the Spaniard as Anderson unleashes a forehand winner of his own on the next point to bring up two set points.

TIE-BREAK! FERRER 6-3 6-3 6-6 (3-3) ANDERSON. Things are still all square in this third set at the change of ends as Anderson slaps down a forehand error to allow Ferrer to level up. It's still on serve so far in this breaker with neither player able to string together more than a couple of points.

FERRER 6-3 6-3 6-6 ANDERSON. Tiebreak it is! Ferrer flies a forehand long on his first game point, but seals it up with a slick dropshot followed by a reflex volley past his opponent. A final shootout beckons to decide the third set.

FERRER 6-3 6-3 5-6 ANDERSON. A thumping forehand to begin the game gives Ferrer hope of a last-moment ambush, but normalcy is quickly resumed as Anderson punches down a few big first serves and seals another hold. Ferrer will serve for a tiebreak soon.

FERRER 6-3 6-3 5-5 ANDERSON. Ferrer quickly flies to a game point lead, only for Anderson to float a sweet backhand lob over the Spaniard’s head. The Spaniard recovers, however, another rare dropshot providing him with an easy backhand to put away the hold as a tiebreak looms.

FERRER 6-3 6-3 4-5 ANDERSON. A poor double fault sends Ferrer angrily muttering in Spanish, as does a short backhand that sets up an easy putaway for Anderson. The South African takes advantage of his opponent’s fury and swiftly holds serve with a strong forehand winner.

FERRER 6-3 6-3 4-4 ANDERSON. Another game, another nervy 30-30 point as a double fault from Ferrer condemns him to the limbo of being two points away from both holding serve and losing it. Anderson sets up an easy backhand, but can’t put it away and Ferrer also eventually escapes.

FERRER 6-3 6-3 3-4 ANDERSON. Ferrer looks well on his way to securing another break – at 30-30 he works Anderson from pillar to post, sets up and easy forehand and…misses! Anderson escapes but the margins are very tight.

FERRER 6-3 6-3 3-3 ANDERSON. Ferrer isn’t quite out of the woods as he finds himself down two further break points, but he roars back with two big serves to scupper the danger. Anderson is back to dominating with errors and winners alike, and eventually an error on game point seals the Spanish hold.

FERRER 6-3 6-3 2-3 ANDERSON. BREAK! Predictably, it doesn’t take Ferrer long to find himself up two break points again. On the very first one, he changes it all up with a rare dropshot which is enough to catch Anderson by complete surprise and snatch the break back immediately.

FERRER 6-3 6-3 1-3 ANDERSON. BREAK! Well, that was unexpected. Out of nowhere, Anderson unleashes on a brutal return to find himself up double break point. Ferrer plays it safe, and eventually Anderson works him off court enough to pound a backhand cross-court into the open space and steal an unlikely break.
