EUROPE 6 - 2 3 - 6 3 - 2 *WORLD
That's the perfect way to start for Europe, with an out-wide Berrettini ace. Volley errors from both Auger-Aliassime and Murray make it 2-2, before an excellent Murray serve - also out wide - gives Europe the lead early on.

First to ten points, here we go...
13:35
EUROPE 6 - 2 3 - 6 0 - 0 WORLD
Chance for Europe here as they take it to 15-30! But that's some fantastic combination play from World, with Auger-Aliassime finding his serving groove and Sock obliging with the put-aways. Set point...which Europe save with a fine Berrettini return! But here's another, and this time World get it - and we go to a match tie-break!
13:33
EUROPE 6 -2 3 - 5 *WORLD
Europe land their hold to ask the question of World, and Berrettini asks for his bench to up the noise and energy as they prepare for their final chance to level up the set. Auger-Aliassime will be the server for World...

EUROPE* 6 -2 2 - 5 WORLD
Two break points for Europe! Murray and Berrettini produce some great tennis to get their chance to get back into the set. But World respond in kind as Berrettini nets a backhand, then Auger-Aliassime dispatches a volley. You sense this is the critical game, and two deuces hint at how tight it is getting out there. Finally it's World that come out on the right side, with Murray netting a backhand. Plenty of advice from the benches at the changeover, with Casper Ruud highlighting Sock's preference for the lob. Interesting stuff!
13:21
EUROPE 6 - 2 2 - 4 *WORLD
Europe are staying in touch here, and they manage to bring it back to 4-2 with another comfortable hold in this set. Frances Tiafoe told his World teammates they were "locked in" during the last changeover, and now it's Sock who has the chance to take the team in red to one game away from taking the second set.

13:12
EUROPE* 6 - 2 1 - 4 WORLD
No dice there for Europe, despite once again getting to 30 in a game, as the World boys seal another hold for 4-1, with the highlight a fine dipping forehand from Auger-Aliassime that prevents Murray from finding the open court. Highlights off the court; the US Open 'T-shirt guy' is in the house, as is Mark Webber. They're enjoying an entertaining match here.
13:09
EUROPE 6 - 2 1 - 3 *WORLD
That's a vital hold for Murray and Europe, giving them a foothold in this set, where they've looked second-best so far to a resurgent World. Can they make inroads and get back on terms in this set, or are we headed for another 'Laver breaker'?
13:04
EUROPE* 6 - 2 0 - 3 WORLD
Europe looking for the immediate response here and they take Sock to 30-30 with Berrettini doing well on top of the net. But then the Italian nets a forehand, and World push on to take the game, and take a 3-0 lead. John McEnroe praises his men at the sit-down, calling their net play "absolutely beautiful".
12:57
EUROPE 6 - 2 0 - 2 *WORLD
Europe in a bit of trouble early in their first service game of the second at 15-30, but Berrettini fires a serve out wide to make it 30-30. Then some magic from Auger-Aliassime, who somehow retrieves a ball that's almost off the court before winning a cross-court forehand battle with Berrettini. More brilliance from the Canadian! And it's the break for World, with Auger-Aliassime showing fast hands at the net to once again to outdo his Italian opponent.
12:57
EUROPE* 6 - 2 0 - 1 WORLD
Murray looks locked in at the start of the second, hitting an excellent return which Auger-Aliassime can only net. But the Canadian responds, landing a couple of powerful first serves which take World to 40-15. Murray looks for a down-the-line return to get back in the game, but it drifts wide and that's World - crucially for them - on the board.
12:48
EUROPE 6 - 2 0 - 0* WORLD
And that's the first set in the bag! Murray is looking right up for this one, and it's his serving that is responsible for Europe sealing the opener, landing an ace and a couple of unreturnables. Positive signs for Europe, with 78% of first serves in so far. Murray urges his partner to "keep the energy up" as they prepare to start of the second.
12:42
EUROPE *5 - 2 WORLD
World look good at 30-0 up, but a slack Auger-Aliassime volley and then a drilled forehand winner from Berrettini takes Europe to 30-30. Now what's happened here?! Murray and Berrettini clash rackets while moving to a central ball, and then the Scot falls over - twice - as he tries to get up for the next ball. Wandering to the Europe bench, he can be heard declaring he lost some skin in the fall. Ouch. No bother though, as he and Berrettini bring up a break point, and land it for a 5-2 lead. Murray will serve for the opening set.
12:42
EUROPE 4 - 2* WORLD
Europe once again the beneficiary of a let chord as a Sock backhand flies long with the help of the tape, giving Berrettini and Murray the first point. Two good serves from the Italian follow, Murray putting away the latter, and then an ace from Berrettini gives his team the game, restoring their two-game advantage.
12:38
EUROPE *3 - 2 WORLD
That's as quick and efficient a hold as you can wish to see, with Auger-Aliassime finding his spots with ease, and neither Murray nor Berrettini can do anything about it.
12:34
EUROPE 3 - 1* WORLD
Murray fires a backhand long as World get into the game at 15-15, but a good serve down the T from the Scot allows his partner to slam down a volley for 30-15. A wild Sock forehand gives Europe 40-15, before Berrettini jumps across an Auger-Aliassime return to take the game and consolidate their break. This scratch European pairing complementing each other well so far.
12:32
EUROPE *2 - 1 WORLD
Errors creeping into both teams' play in this game, as Murray nets a regulation forehand, and then Sock double faults. But Murray redeems himself by forcing a break point with a fine forehand passing shot which screws off the edge of Auger-Aliassime's racket. And there's the break, with Berrettini firing a forehand into Auger-Aliassime's body, who can only put his volley long.
12:27
EUROPE 1 - 1* WORLD
Sock has started this match on fire and he jumps on another return to take the first point. But Europe - via some of their own skill and then a fortuitous let chord - push ahead in the game, and take it to put things on level terms. Plenty of positive chat from the World bench early on as they look to urge on their team in this must-win rubber.
12:22
EUROPE *0 - 1 WORLD
Europe take Felix Auger-Aliassime to 30-30, but Jack Sock pounces on an Andy Murray groundstroke that was too close to him. Sock then air slams a smash to take the next point, and with it the first game. Matteo Berrettini will get Europe underway on serve...
