READY? ... PLAY!
Zverev will serve first in what is the first final featuring two men seeking their maiden Roland Garros title since 2016 when Novak Djokovic completed his career Grand Slam with victory over Andy Murray.
Whoever wins today will be the first, first-time RG champion since the Serb lifted the trophy for the first of three times that year.

THE CHATRIER ROOF ... IS OPEN
It's day-time conditions and relatively warm.
That will suit Alcaraz's spin.
Zverev has played so many matches in cooler conditions in the evening, often with the roof closed.
Will that be a factor?

COULD ZVEREV TURN CHATRIER FROM WORST TO BEST TENNIS MOMENT?
Zverev could become just the eighth man to win Rome and then Roland-Garros in the same year in the Open Era.
A victory today would also cap a full-circle journey for the German.
Back in 2022 he was locked in a semi-final battle with Rafael Nadal on this very court and in the sort of form that had him threatening to become the World No.1.
However, an unfortunate ankle injury saw him leave Chatrier in a wheel chair and he has been on a path of recovery since then, slowly finding his best tennis.
Two years on, could he be about to end his long-wait for a maiden major at the scene of one of his worst tennis moments?

ALCARAZ HOPING TO FOLLOW IN THE STEPS OF SOME SPANISH GREATS
“I would leave school and run home to plug the TV in and watch Roland-Garros matches. It’s a very special tournament for me that I’ve been watching since I was little. And it’s a tournament where Spanish players have been very successful. We’re used to Rafa (Nadal), but there were other Spaniards before him that did big things. So, I want to leave my mark, add my name to that list.”

THE HEAD-TO-HEAD IS INTRIGUINGLY POISED
This is their 10th meeting with Zverev leading the match-up 5-4.
Alcaraz has won two of the three encounters on clay - both in Madrid - but lost in four sets in the last eight of the 2022 French Open.
Zverev lead 2-1 in showdowns at majors; winning at RG 2022 and this year’s Australian Open. Alcaraz won in straight sets in the 2023 US Open quarter finals.
