CAN ZVEREV-RUUD UPSTAGE THE ALCARAZ-SINNER THRILLER?
It will be a tall order but neither player will care about being further down the pecking order in terms of the tennis headlines tonight, so long as they are the ones toasting being in a final showdown with Alcaraz.
Check out our full match report from the Spaniard's rollercoaster triumph over Sinner with reaction and video below.

THE DEVIL'S IN THE DETAIL OF THE DATA
  • Ruud is 0-5 v Top at majors and 1-7 v Top 10 (Rune RG 2023).
  • Ruud is targeting a tour-leading 40th win of the year which would see him become the first player since Rafael Nadal in 2017 to pick up over 40 victories prior to the end of RG.
  • Zverev is 3-15 versus fellow Top 10 opponents at majors, winning three of the last four having initially been 0-11 prior to getting his first win (Alcaraz RG 2022, Sinner 2023 US Open, Alcaraz 2024 Australian Open).#
  • The German is hoping to reach his second major final (lost to Dominic Thiem US Open 2020).

THIRD TIME LUCKY OR FOURTH TIME’S THE CHARM?
Zverev is appearing in his fourth Roland-Garros semi final in a row but has yet to reach the final.
The 27-year-old No.4 seed is hoping to become only the second German man to book a spot in the RG final since Michael Stich back in 1996.
Ruud is also aiming to overcome a hurdle. The Norwegian could become only the seventh man in the Open Era to make three French Open finals in a row.
The No.7 seed has lost both previous finals (versus Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic respectively) and will be keen to try and break his duck in major finals (0-3 overall) this year.
