Carlos Alcaraz is through to the semi-finals of the French Open for the second time in his career after a straight-sets victory over Stefanos Tsitsipas. Alcaraz, who is looking to win the French Open for the first time, has extended his head-to-head record against Tsitsipas to 6-0 after a comfortable win over the Greek who produced far from his best performance in Paris.

'He nearly cut that in half!' - Alcaraz produces incredible drop shot

Carlos Alcaraz is through to the semi-finals of the French Open for the second year in a row after a comfortable 6-3 7-6(3) 6-4 win over Stefanos Tsitsipas.
Tsitsipas was made to rue a number of costly errors in a match where Alcaraz was rarely troubled.
The world No. 3 will play Jannik Sinner in the last four after the Italian beat Grigor Dimitrov in straight sets earlier in the day.
"It was a really good match, I played great," Alcaraz said in his on-court interview.
"There were ups and downs in my game, I controlled my emotions on the court. I was really calm in the moments that I had to.
"I'm really happy with the way I managed everything, the way that I played. I'm really happy to play a semi-final here in Roland-Garros."
On his highly-anticipated clash against Sinner, he said: "It's a really difficult challenge. I think right now he's the best player in the world, who is playing the best tennis right now.
"What can I say about him? We've played great matches, the quarter-final in 2022 but also after this, we've played great matches at a high level.
"I am glad to have him in the tour at this level because thanks to him, it pushes me to be better and to give 100 per cent every day. It's going to be a really difficult challenge for me.
"It's the match that everybody wants to watch and I'm sure he's going to show his best tennis, myself as well. Let's see who is going to win."
The first set was very straightforward for Alcaraz as Tsitsipas made 33 unforced errors. Alcaraz wrapped it up in 31 minutes with the frustration clear on Tsitsipas' face.

Tsitsipas fought back from a break down in the second set to force a tie-break. However, the tie-break was a one-sided affair as Alcaraz dominated.
When Alcaraz took a 5-1 lead in the tie-break, Tsitsipas complained to the chair umpire about an "extended grunt" from Alcaraz. The comment was met with laughter from Alcaraz and boos and whistles from the crowd. Alcaraz went on to win the tie-break 7-3.

The third set was played at a higher intensity than the previous two and it was closely fought up until 3-3. But two double faults from Tsitsipas in the seventh game saw Alcaraz clinch the vital break he needed.
Alcaraz did not look back after that, holding his remaining service games with relative ease to seal his place in the semi-finals.
