Good afternoon and welcome to LIVE updates of Day 4 of the 2021 Wimbledon Championships. First up on Centre Court we’ve got world number one, Ash Barty against Russia’s world number 89, Anna Blinkova. The players are due on court from 1.30pm BST.

GAME, SET AND MATCH! – BARTY 6-4 6-3 BLINKOVA. Drama. A Barty forehand is called out on match point. She challenges... and it’s IN! Barty waits for the umpire's call, and bows her head in irritation when she won’t hand her the win. They replay the point but Blinkova drills long and the victory is achieved just seconds later. The world number one struggled for rhythm at times but gets the job done in one hour and 30 minutes and now meets Katerina Siniakova in round three.

BARTY 6-4 5-3 BLINKOVA. That’s a BIG hold. Barty hits clutch mode at just the right moments with a series of forehand and backhand winners. She fends off four break points before a fifth ace puts her on track to consolidate. She’s been very patchy today but is now just one game from victory.

BREAK! – BARTY 6-4 4-3 BLINKOVA. That’s sublime! Barty produces an audacious lob that clips the baseline to earn another break opportunity. A deep forehand is called long but the Aussie's challenge shows it to be in. The world number one shakes her head in frustration but re-focuses in time to take control of the replayed point and pass a crisp backhand winner up Blinkova’s right flank to take charge.

Meanwhile, in the men's draw there's been some good news for GB.

BARTY 6-4 3-3 BLINKOVA. The Aussie needed to find her serve – and she does just that. The first serve lands more frequently and dashes to a solid hold. Finely poised.

BARTY 6-4 2-3 BLINKOVA. That was rapid. Blinkova surges through her most assured service game of the match to make it three games on the spin and nudge the board in her favour.

BREAK! - BARTY 6-4 2-2 BLINKOVA. That’s a shocker from Barty. The second serve has been woeful and it costs her here. Two more double faults – including one on BP – see her gift the game to her opponent, who gave herself a chance with a couple of brilliant forehand winners. If Barty does get through this match she’s going to have to spend some time sorting out that serve on the practise court.

BARTY 6-4 2-1 BLINKOVA. The world number 89 gets on the board. She has to work mighty hard for it, rampaging around the court to try and nullify Barty’s variety. A lovely volley at the net puts her in charge from deuce before Barty lets her off the hook by slapping a tame forehand into the net.

BARTY 6-4 2-0 BLINKOVA. Barty consolidates after a mid-game wobble and a sixth double fault of the contest. She’s far from her best but just about doing enough at the moment.

BREAK! – BARTY 6-4 1-0 BLINKOVA. Barty blasts her way to triple break point but can’t make it count. Blinkova reaches the sanctuary of deuce but then double faults to offer the Aussie a fourth opportunity. This time she gets the job done, flashing a forehand winner up the line after a crunching crosscourt backhand had pulled her opponent way off court.

SET! – BARTY 6-4 BLINKOVA. It’s been far from routine and all rather scrappy but Barty finds form at a key moment to blitz through a love hold and secure th4 opener in 41 minutes.

BREAK! – BARTY 5-4 BLINKOVA. The Barty slice and dice fails once again on break point but Blinkova suddenly gets equally wobbly and the top seed manages to edge in front once again with a break from deuce. She will now serve for the set.

BREAK! – BARTY 4-4 BLINKOVA. It’s such a mixed bag from Barty. Two more double faults take her tally to five already and don’t help her in a topsy-turvy game. She turns 0-30 around to assume a winning position on two occasions but can’t maintain enough consistency. Blinkova takes advantage and earns the break back when the Aussie slices tamely into the net.

BREAK! – BARTY 4-3 BLINKOVA. That’s much more like it from Barty. A short, slice drop shot bamboozles Blinkova to snare triple break point and this time there is no recovery from the Russian. Barty chases down a drop shot and shows great hands to pick it up and guide a winner up the line to break to love.

BARTY 3-3 BLINKOVA. The Barty forehand is doing some damage but it’s also misfiring at times. It’s making for a nervy and somewhat patchy display from the world number one so far. It does enough to get her over the line here though. All square.

BARTY 2-3 BLINKOVA. Brilliant resistance! Barty looks to have found rhythm as a scorching, deep forehand clocks up triple break point. The Aussie fizzes another shot off the same flank just wide on the next point and from there it’s clutch from Blinkova. The Russian reels off five points in a row to get out of dodge with an overhead that thuds the net on its way over.

BARTY 2-2 BLINKOVA. The top seed slaps down a pair of aces and then sees a wicked crosscourt slice force another error out of the Russian to consolidate and achieve parity on the scoreboard.
