Emma Raducanu, Naomi Osaka and Caroline Wozniacki all awarded wild card entry for Wimbledon main draw

Emma Raducanu will play at Wimbledon after being awarded a main-draw wild card, along with fellow Grand Slam champions Naomi Osaka and Caroline Wozniacki. Raducanu has been working her way back to fitness after a spell away from the court, and impressed at the recent Nottingham Open. Wimbledon boys’ singles champion Henry Searle has been given a wild card for the men's draw.

Emma Raducanu will play at Wimbledon after being awarded a main-draw wild card.

Raducanu has delivered encouraging performances at recent tournaments including the Stuttgart and Nottingham Opens respectively, the latter where she lost in the semi-final against fellow Brit Katie Boulter.

Former world No. 1 Naomi Osaka and 2018 Australian Open champion Caroline Wozniacki have also been handed wild cards into the women's singles main draw.

Britain’s Fran Jones, Heather Watson and Lily Miyazaki also feature in the initial list.

Osaka's preparations have not gone entirely to plan so far, with the Japanese crashing out of the Berlin Open in the first round against Qinwen Zheng.

In the men’s singles, seven British players have been handed wild cards, including reigning Wimbledon boys’ singles champion Henry Searle.

Liam Broady and Jan Choinski will also feature in the main draw.

Wild cards are players whose world ranking is not high enough for them to automatically qualify for the tournament, but are accepted into the draw at the discretion of the Committee.

Carlos Alcaraz, the defending men's champion at Wimbledon, had a winning return to the grass at Queen's against Francisco Cerundolo.
